About Norman

Growing up in Southern California as the son of a home building industry leader, Norm was immersed in the home building business from an early age. From pounding nails in his youth to leadership roles in industry organizations, Norm has extensive knowledge of every aspect of the home building and land home development industries.

Over the years Norm has coordinated the development of master planned communities for clients such as Charles Schwab and the Hunt Companies. With more than four decades of experience, he’s been involved in the construction of more than 1,500 homes and managed the development of more than 5,000 lots in Hawaii, Colorado, and California.

As a realtor, Norm’s deep understanding of Hawaii Island’s home building and land development markets enables him to provide his clients with a unique perspective when analyzing real estate acquisition strategies.

We engaged Norm to sell our house in KaMilo, a property under development by Brookfield Hawaii. Our house was the first unit built and the original model home for the project. We purchased the home in March, 2007. The property had been listed several times prior to Norm’s taking over with very limited interest and traffic and no acceptable offers. One reason for the lack of prior success was the fact that the home was being rented out which restricted availability for showing. This, and the aging of the home in a development with similar floor plans being sold as new, presented a set of challenges to overcome. Norm, an experienced property developer including work on KaMilo, could credibly represent the issues of the development and our property to potential buyers. He came up with a plan to open the house for showing on virtually every break in rental occupancy and personally stayed in the home for this purpose. The result was to capture all the traffic coming to KaMilo and leverage Brookfield’s promotions and marketing. Traffic was immediately enhanced. Secondly, he worked with us to make the simple improvements to restore the home’s appeal versus the newer offerings. The entire process took about a year to complete the sale and close escrow not uncommon in the market we were faced with at KaMilo. It’s important to note that Norm presents a very professional demeanor and his experience beyond real estate sales becomes readily apparent. We therefore are pleased to recommend Norm for listing and sales of properties in Hawaii.

Norm was marvelous. Every detail taken care of professionally and completely as we did not live on Island and were not there to take care of these details. He is masterful in knowing how to make a house look its best. We feel this and the use of a professional photographer really made a difference in the presentation of our home and led to us receiving multiple offers on our home. Norm is also very personable and wonderful to work with. And boy does he work. Norm held multiple open house events every week for nearly the entire day.
